It was early February 2024 when workers, mostly from Tunisia and other African countries, decided to shout “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” and fight against the low wages and precarious conditions prevailing in call centers.
Against the fear of dismissal, overcoming the language barrier and the isolation imposed by remote work, continuous mass strikes took place at the largest call centers in the country, with significant results such as the establishment of new company unions at Webhelp and Teleperformance.
We are speaking with a member of the workers’ union at Teleperformance (SETEP) about working conditions, the unacceptable “special purpose” visa regime, the founding of SETEP, and the struggle for signing a collective labor agreement”.
